Willis Pharmacy Troon
Our friendly healthcare team is here to help you and your family, providing you with the support, advice and medication you need to optimise your health and wellbeing. Our open plan pharmacy is completely accessible and we also offer a consultation room where you can talk to us privately and confidentially about any healthcare matter.
We’ve recently expanded our services in our Troon shop to include the following:
Eyecare Ayrshire
If you have an eye problem, such as sore or itchy eyes, your optician can examine you and give you a prescription, rather than your GP. Simply bring it in to us, and we’ll provide the medicine you need, free of charge.
Minor Ailments Service and Pharmacy First
If you have a minor ailment, we can often provide you with the medication you need, saving you a trip to the GP. We can treat a wide range of minor ailments including coughs and colds, allergies, diarrhoea, head lice, thrush, conjunctivitis, impetigo and UTIs (urinary tract infections). For most people, including those under 16 and over 60, we can provide over-the-counter medicines for minor ailments free of charge.
Sexual Health
We offer a fully confidential service which includes prescribing oral and injectable contraceptives, as well as the morning after pill, without having to see your GP. You can also talk to us in private if you’re worried you may have contracted an STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection). We can provide tests and treatment for two of the most common types, chlamydia and gonorrhoea. We also offer Condom Cards, where you can register for a free supply of condoms.
Smoking Cessation
If you’d like to stop smoking, we can offer you help and support through the free NHS Smoking Cessation Programme. This can be with NRT (Nicotine Replacement Therapy) or Champix (Varenicline) tablets to relieve cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Please call in for more information.
Chronic Medication Service
If you have a long term chronic condition, we can help make it easier to manage your prescriptions. Simply call into the pharmacy to register for this service. We will then review your medication and produce a care plan for you. Soon, we will also be able to offer you a six month or even annual prescription service, to save the need for regular repeat prescriptions.
Travel Clinics
If you’re visiting a tropical, subtropical or developing country, call into our private travel clinic before you go. Our qualified pharmacist will carry out a risk assessment and offer you a private prescription for any medication or vaccinations you need to protect you from diseases such as malaria. Soon, this will also include yellow fever.
